Kharidome has been making greater headways into the most coveted and fast developing Indian Online retailing business. How does their return/refund policy works out? Do they have a customer friendly approach in dealing with return claims? Let us delve into a fewer details.

 

 

·         Return policies of Kharidome

Kharidome offers a 10 days return policy. They claim to provide return guarantee for all products received in wrong color, quantity and size. Items found to be damaged or empty boxes are also covered under the return policy.

 

 

 

1.    Which items are covered under return guarantee?

An item received, but not according to the specifications in color, size or quantity is covered under the policy. Kharidome also offers the guarantee on damaged and defective articles/items. You can claim for return if you feel the item specifications differ significantly from what has been described by the merchant. But your claim will be reviewed by Kharidome and their decision will remain final.

 

 

2.    What is not covered under return guarantee?

The return policy does not undertake to refund/return certain products on health and hygiene grounds. Such items include Undergarments, Lingerie and Swimsuits. Healthcare products are not covered under the policy as well. Items manufactured/fabricated as per custom requirements will not be covered under return policy. Perishable items like food products and flowers are also not covered.

Other conditions for dishonoring the return claim include

·         Used or torn product

·         Items returned without original packaging/accessories

·         Items with serial number tampered

 

 

3.    How to initiate return claim?

Items purchased from Kharidome have a standard 10 day return policy. If you find any product suitable to be claimed for return/refund, you need to initiate the process within 10 days of receiving the item. Certain products have different return period depending on the nature of the product. The actual return period of the item is mentioned in the product description page.

If an item is received in a damaged condition or in case of empty parcels, you need to contact Kharidome within two days of receipt of the material.

Return request can be placed online. The refund/return policy involves following stages –

 

1. File a return request on My Account'. Sign-In -> My Account -> Order History -> Request Return.

2. Kharidome will review the request on receipt.

3. The request may be shared (if needed) with the merchant.

4. If your request is accepted, Kharidome will arrange for a pickup of the article through courier.

5. In case, pickup service is not available in your city, you will be asked to dispatch the item via a courier. Courier charges paid by you will reimburse to you in the form of Kharidome Bucks.

6. Once the pickup is received, it is verified against the claim. If accepted, return/refund process is initiated. Time taken for the replacement will be dependent on the stock availability.

 

 

4.    Any other points to be noted?

If your claim is accepted for replacement, you may need to wait for up to one to three weeks for receiving your claim depending upon the stock availability. Exact time will depend upon your location and the nature of the product.

Make sure you have packed all the accessories, packing slip and the price tags in the original box. Pack the item securely and mention your order number on the label.

Please note these points down for an effective replacement/refund -

1. Return/refund is initiated within two days of receiving the package.

2. Refunds will take two weeks to be credited to your bank account. If, however, refund is requested in Kharidome Bucks, it will be refunded instantly.

3. Refund/replacement may get delayed / declined if Kharidome order number is not mentioned or the product received is not as per your claim.

 

 

My take on the Kharidome return policy

 

I would rate Kharidome return policy as least customer friendly. The major flaw with the policy is its Ten days replacement warranty for all products. It is too short a duration compared to other online retailers. Flipkart provides 30 days replacement guarantee for Flipkart Advantage sellers, 30 day guarantee for Fashion and Books category and Ten days guarantee for other sellers.
